Search Engine Optimization
What is this and why do I need it?
SEO will increase your chances of being seen on the search engines. Search engines rank your website by information that they consider relevant to the users, such as, local listing, videos and keywords.
Search engines scan your website and look for pertinent , useful information. Each search engine has a formula for the information that it is looking for. Several topics that all search engines use are words, titles and links.
Use of the latest on-page SEO techniques help search engines connect to your website with words or phrases that potential customers would use when searching the web. If someone wants to find information on clothing repair, then the search engine finds the pages that are about clothing repair.
This same concept applies to the words relating to the website that the link connects to and tells the search engine that there is a viable relation between the words and the site.
Titles for your individual pages should be a quick summary of what content is on the page. This is an important consideration for all search engines.
Links Between Websites
When one site links to another, it is usually an indication that the site is being recommended and has good information. Hence, a website with many links coming to it attracts the attention of the search engines.
Using or buying bogus links to increase page rankings is not a good idea. The search engines give more weight in their formulas for links that go to trustworthy sites.
Sites with fresh content and a growing number of links back to their website are considered to be “rising stars” and they will do well with search engine rankings.
